In both Testaments, SPIRIT is used of both God & human beings. Jesus tells us that spirit is like the wind – in that no one can see it, but – we can see its effects, (John 3).

This is true of both The Sprit of God & the spirit of human being.

Many religious groups deny the existence  & Deity of the Holy Spirit – They say that – The Holy Spirit is like a radar beam or an electrical pulse etc. This is not a Bible teaching & goes against everything that God’s Word tells us about The Holy Spirit. Let’s examine just a few references.

In Genesis 1:3 we read that – at the beginning of creation, The Spirit of God hovered over the waters.

As you can see from the above scriptures Holy Spirit is not & can not be a impersonal force like a radar beam.

In Acts 5:3-4 – Apostle Luke tells us – That if we lie to Holy Spirit – We are lying to God. – Note also what happened to people that lied – Both of them dropped dead on the spot. This is not something that will happen to anyone who lies to a radar beam or some kind of impersonal force.

In Matthew 12:31 –32 – Jesus tells us that – the only sin that will not be forgiven is the “BLASPHEMY against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.” – Now again – we ask our selves how could this be – if the Holy Spirit is an impersonal force? How can that be an unforgivable sin? Well it can not – We can only sin against another person & God himself.

There are few facts that must be considered when dealing with the Matthew 12 scripture.

1) Jewish leaders who just witnessed a mighty miracle that Jesus performed – were saying that HE had the power of devil- the unholy spirit.  They should have known better as their own scriptures of OT tell them  - that Jesus/ Messiah would perform many mighty miracles in the POWER OF SPIRIT (Isaiah 35:5-6)

Therefore  - when we call the Power of the Holy Spirit evil – we are sinning against God, which is not an advisable thing to do.

AS far as we are concerned today – there are other factors to consider. Jesus tells us that Holy Spirit / Comforter will teach us everything (John 14:26). Add all of the above mentioned references & you can see why it is not advisable to deny the Deity of The Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit being God who Indwells in our heart & is Leading us closer to God – then life is so much easier. Please read John 3:3-7, 1 John 5:1, Galatians 4:5-7 & Romans 8:1-16. You will note that the Holy Spirit is crying out “ABBA FATHER” on our behalf & calling God to help us lead a better & more spiritual life.  That’s like saying – that The Spirit is calling out Daddy, Daddy please lend a hand to this person he/she really needs now & forever more.

WHY is it that spirit filled Christians interpret the scripture differently, or have a different understanding of what is being said in the message.

When Holy Spirit is sent from the Father to all those who are seeking Him – there are few things that get in the way. Lets look at it from this point of view.

Lets look at the radio band or a TV band as an example.  The TV station or radio station is transmitting a nice & clear signal from the station/origin, but along the way there are Hills, Power Poles, may be the Antennae at the receivers end is old, broken, rusted away, batteries are just about to run out of power etc. With all this interference it is impossible for the TV wave or radio wave to get through with the same clear signal as it was sent.

Same principles apply to Man & His reception of the Holy Spirit. Maybe the persons own mind is not ready to accept the message in full, they may not be ready to do everything that God is asking them to do, they might have been given a different point of view of Who Holy Spirit is. Like what the WT teaches and many other cults.  People's batteries may be run down & there is a need for recharge & re - education on many Bible principles. This takes time & plenty of patience. Holy Spirits Illumination (1 Corinthians 2:10-16 especially verses 13&14).

I pray & encourage you all to stop being prideful & allow the Holy Spirit to come upon your heart & lead you to a closer relationship with The Father & His Son Jesus Christ. In today’s society – like in Jesus’ time – there are many things that we do from time to time that are not according to the Bible teaching or even society rules & regulations. That is why Jesus had to come – God wanted a personal relationship with each & every person.

In Jeremiah 31:31-34 God tells us that He wants this personal relationship with us & in Hebrews 8:7-13 this prophesy is fulfilled. That’s why we have a chance to repent until our last breath of our life. The thief on the cross beside Jesus was given this chance & so are we. All that we have to do repent ask forgiveness & allow the Holy Spirit to speak on our behalf to the Father & He will forgive us.

The Important thing is to REPENT & ask for HOLY SPRITS Help.  We are like a car – all the ingredients are there. Car is full of fuel, battery is ok – but there is no spark. Turn the engine key on & presto – car is ready to role. We are the same – body is there breath of life is working but the Spiritual vacuum is missing. There is a need for the Spark – That Spark is our Repentance against our sins against God. Holy Spirit will come into our life & He will slowly lead us to a better spiritual life.
