In the light of two deaths in Brisbane Princes Alexandra hospital for refusing the blood transfusion - these two young Jehovah's  Witness ladies believed that they were doing the right thing by refusing the Blood Transfusion.

WT - teaches that blood transfusion is same as Eating Blood.  Is This Biblical??  Lets see from the Bible.

WT Uses Genesis 9: 3- 6 & Acts 15: as their support for this teaching.

There are a number of things that MUST be UNDERSTOOD In the Context of the entire passage. In Genesis 9: 3 - 6, God is informing Noah after his arrival on Terra Firmer {Solid ground once again} - that He is allowed to EAT MEAT for the first time. Prior to the flood - Noah was used to eating Grains & fruit etc & now that there is NO Vegetation, due to flood wiping it out - God gave new provisions to Noah - which included eating meat.

This required Noah to KILL the animal first, bleed most of the blood & then eat the reminder.  AS this was the First time thing for human kind - God Need to instruct them on how this was to be done. He didn't want them to be CANNIBALS or BARBARIANS & eat the flesh while animals were still alive. SO Gave them strict guidelines how to go about this new job.

When we come to Acts 15 topic - First subject at hand is the matter of Circumcision of Gentiles - with which Paul. BARNABAS, Peter, John, James etc. had to deal with. At this Apostolic council meeting Apostles over come this & passed the rules to all to follow.  Again Including the correct way of killing the animals & eating them.
 

Does this have anything to do with TRANSFUSING Blood??

First of  =  Did Noah or Apostles know or even consider this aspect that is "Transfusion of Blood"?   How could they as this is a recent medical break through - like the last 100 years.

Second =  Transfusing blood is NOT same as Consuming Food through MOUTH -  Transfusion involves  a medical procedure of TRANSPLANTING a LIQUID ORGAN from one patient who donated it - INTO ANOTHER Patient who is in desperate need of it so to save his / her life.

THIRD & Most Important one is this one!   IT NEVER EVEN ENTERED GOD'S MIND THAT ANYONE SHOULD SACRIFICE HIS / HERS LIFE FOR HIM.

You see folks - God doesn't need anything form us humans as he already has everything & HE is the Giver of life - Acts 17: 25.

In Jeremiah 19: 5  & 32 : 35 & Psalm 106: 37  we read this - NIV text: "They have built  the high places of Ball to Burn their Sons in the fire as Offerings to Ball - Something I DID NOT COMMAND,  NOR DID IT ENTER MY MIND."

What is RALLY sad about WT teaching is that God didn't mind so much if people did EAT Flesh with Blood in it if it would have saved persons life. In Leviticus 17: 15 - 16 we read this: "Anyone, whether native-born or alien {Gentile}, who eats anything found dead or torn by wild animals MUST WASH HIS CLOTHS & BATH WITH WATER & HE WILL BE CEREMONIALLY UNCLEAN TILL EVENING; Then he will be clean. 16 But if he does not wash his cloths and bath himself, he will be held responsible."
 

Even though in Exodus 22: 31 God forbid of eating Torn flesh - yet in Leviticus regulations God said it would be OK to sustain Life & then wash your self & you would be considered clean after night fall.  See also Leviticus 11: 40.
 

Amazing isn't it??  - All that the person had to do was to BATH / WASH themselves & they would be considered CLEAN in GOD'S Eyes & yet in WT eyes PERSON MUST SACRIFICE THEIR LIFE for God {Which never even entered God's Mind} otherwise they will be disfellowshipped from God's organization.

I winder if any JW eats ANY FAT of any animal as that is also Forbidden by God - Leviticus 7: 24 - Fat MUST BE OFFERED TO GOD as Burnt offering.  Just an idea!!

Paul gives an idea on this EATING Thing a great explanation in Romans 14 - he tells us that it is NOT Important what we EAT as Long as we give thanks to the Lord.  SO if I consider some food of limits to myself & you choose to eat it - then it is between YOU & GOD & Nothing to do with me.  SO who is WT to tell people what they can / cannot eat?

Bt more importantly - EATING BLOOD which Goes in to the stomach has NOTHING to do with TRANSFUSING Blood.

God Himself tells us in Matthew 12:7 this: "..I DESIRE MERCY, NOT SACRIFICE."
In Book of Hose 6: 6 we find the same words - "For I desire MERCY, NOT Sacrifice & Acknowledgement of God.."  In Micah 6: 8b we read this on the subject - What God require of us -"..To ACT Justly & To Love Mercy & to Walk Humbly With Your God."

In All Occasions God does NOT WANT ANYONE TO SACRIFICE His / HER Life for Him as HE has everything. He wants us to have mercy towards one another & to walk with Him Humbly & justly.

Even worse on this WT doctrine is the fact that Individual JW's ARE ALLOWED BLOOD Particles as Long as ALL Components are NOT Together. Strange that!!  How is it possible to be allowed Blood particles separately & not all together??
