Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law" (Psalm 119:18) When Spirit of Truth Comes In To Your Life He Will Lead You to ALL the Truth. (John 16: 13)
The original is in the Black text & refuted material is in "UPPER" Case &
Some notes and comments on various Biblical texts some have used to promote the doctrine of the Trinity. The main approach that will be used to arrive at a proper balanced view of these texts is based on the FACT that the Bible interprets itself.
Deuteronomy 6:4
Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah.
IN KJV VERSE 4 GOES LIKE THIS - "HEAR, O ISRAEL: THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD"
IN NIV - VERSE 4 GOES LIKE THIS - "HEAR, O ISRAEL: THE LORD OUR GOD, THE LORD IS ONE."
PLEASE NOTE THAT KJV & NIV STATE THAT ISRAEL SHOULD "HEAR" WHAT LORD GOD IS SAYING & NOT "LISTEN"
TO "LISTEN" IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT ONE WILL "HEAR "WHAT IS BEING SAID.
TO HEAR WHAT THE MESSAGE IS SAYING IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT TO JUST LISTENING ISNT IT?
WE CAN LISTEN ALL WE WANT BUT IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE WILL "HEAR" WHAT IS BEING SAID -
WE HAVE ALREADY ESTABLISHED (in Genesis section) THAT NO ONE HAS SEEN NOR HEARD THE FATHER {JOHN 1:18 & 6:46} BUT ONLY THE SON THEREFORE HERE THE AUTHOR IS SAYING THAT JESUS IS OUR GOD & JEHOVAH
Some say the Hebrew word here translated "one" means "many unified into one." Thus Jehovah here is identified as 3 persons unified into one God.
This is a assumption from the authors point of view statement clearly says that there is one Lord God of Israel NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS
Lets explore this line of thought.
The Hebrew word translated "one" here is "echad." The word by itself literally means "one, single, individual." If however, "echad" is used with what are called "composite modifiers," it can mean "several unified into one." We see one instance of this at Gen. 1:24 where it says: "That is why a man will leave his father and his mother and he must stick to his wife and they must become one flesh."
THIS IS SO TRUE HUSBAND & WIFE ARE TWO PERSONS BUT THEY ARE "ONE" IN THE EYES OF THE GOD THAT IS COMPOSITE UNITY
Here we see that "echad" is used with the composite modifiers "must become," with reference to the man and the woman.
What about when such composite modifiers are not found in the verse like at Deuteronomy 6:4? What does "echad" then mean?
IT MEANS THE SAME THING AS DOES "ONE" NATION THERE ARE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WITHIN "ONE" NATION YET THERE ARE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE
SAME APPLIES TO A FAMILY WHICH MAY HAVE A HUSBAND WIFE & KIDS THEY ARE AT LEAST 2 OR MANY MORE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN WITHIN THE FAMILY YET THEY ARE "ONE" FAMILY
YOU CAN APPLY THE SAME PRINCIPLE TO ANY SPORTING TEAM =
MANY PLAYERS YET "ONE" TEAM AIMING TO ACHIEVE THE SAME PURPOSE.
JUST AS THE FATHER SON & SPIRIT OF GOD DO = 3 PERSONS AIMING TO DO THE SAME THING "ONE" IN PURPOSE -
Lets look at Genesis 22:2 for an example: "And he went on to say: "Take, please, your son, your only son whom you so love, Isaac, and make a trip to the land of Mo·ri'ah and there offer him up as a burnt offering on one of the mountains that I shall designate to you."
AS THIS PASSAGE APPEARS IN NIV TEXT:
"THEN GOD SAID, 'TAKE YOUR SON, YOUR ONLY SON, ISAAC, WHOM YOU LOVE, AND GO TO THE REGION OF MORIAH. SACRIFICE HIM THERE AS A BURNT OFFERING ON 'ONE' OF THE MOUNTAINS I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT."
Here we see echad, one, used of the mountains. How many of the mountains was Abraham instructed by Jehovah to offer Isaac on? ONE of them, not several, or many of them! So here is just one of many examples in the Bible where the word echad is used singularly to express the thought of "one, single, individual."
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WORD "MOUNTAINS" IS A PLURAL WORD. THERE WERE MANY MOUNTAINS THERE - BUT GOD SID THAT HE WILL TELL ABRAHAM WHICH "ONE" OF THESE MOUNTAINS HE WAS TO GO TO.
SO WHAT WE SEE - IS THIS: THERE IS A MOUNTAIN RANGE & ABRAHAM WILL HAVE TO GO TO "ONE" MOUNTAIN ONLY & NOT TO EVERY ONE OF THE MOUNTAINS.
NOTE THE WORD "ONE" -- IT CAN BE USED IN DESCRIBING 1 ONLY - OR EVERY ONE OF THE MOUNTAINS. OTHER WORDS DEFINE THE MEANING OF THE WORD ONE.
IT DOES MEAN ONE OF A KIND & ONE A GROUP.
IN EACH CASE ONE DEFINES DIFFERENT MEANING - SINGULAR OR COMPOSITE UNITY OF ONE.
So then we ask the question: "Are there any composite modifiers found at Deut. 6:4? The answer is NO!! The verse does NOT read: "Jehovah our God is "3 persons that must become" our One Jehovah."
WE HAVE ALREADY SAID THAT BUT THE AUTHOR TRIES TO DECEIVE BY USING "WRONG" REASONING & PLACING WORDS IN TO YOUR MIND
ECHAD REFERS TO "ONE" IN PURPOSE AS WELL AS ONE UNIT- YET ONE UNIT CAN BE ONE FAMILY OF 2 / 5 / 10 PEOPLE ETC. OR ONE NATION OF MILLIONS PEOPLE \ OR JUST ONE PERSON ON HIS / HER OWN.
THE WORD "ONE" DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING UNLESS THERE ARE OTHER WORDS TO TELL US - WHAT THIS "ONE" MEANS.. IS IT ONE PERSON - ONE TEAM - ONE NATION ETC. SAME WORD "ONE" IN EACH CASE DEFINES A DIFFERENT NUMBER OF PEOPLE.
Zechariah 14:9 says this about Jehovah: "And Jehovah must become king over all the earth. In that day Jehovah will prove to be one, and his name one." Yes, Jehovah is ONE Jehovah, not many unified INTO one.
SO TRUE JEHOVAH IS ONE BY "NATURE" THERE IS NO OTHER AUTHORITY UNDER THE SUN DEAR FRIENDS "GOD" IS A "NATURE" JUST AS HUMANITY IS A "NATURE" - THERE ARE BILLIONS OF PEOPLE IN THE WORLD YET BY "NATURE" WE ARE ALL "HUMANS" NO MATTER WHAT COLOUR, CULTURE, LANGUAGE Etc. WE BELONG TO OR ARE CLASSIFIED UNDER WE ALL HAVE - 1 HEAD 2 ARMS 2 LEGS 1 TORSO 2 FEET 2 EYES Etc. WE ARE ONE IN :PURPOSE: HUMAN BEINGS IF IT IS NOT HUMAN THEN IT IS OF ANOTHER KIND - LIKE FISH, CAT, DOG {ANIMALS} BIRDS ETC.
GOD THE FATHER , GOD THE SON & GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT ARE ALL "GOD" BY ONE "NATURE" & ONE PURPOSE
NO CHILD OF OURS IS AN OFFSPRING OF A DOG HORSE FISH ETC BUT AN OFFSPRING OF A HUMAN WHICH IN TURN MAKES OUR OFFSPRING HUMAN ALSO - & NOT SOME OTHER KIND LIKE DOG HORSE FISH ETC.
Romans 3:30 says this: "if truly God is one, who will declare circumcised people righteous as a result of faith and uncircumcised people righteous by means of their faith." The Greek word here is "heis." It literally means ONE, SINGLE, INDIVIDUAL" as well. How many is God? He truly is ONE.
LETS LOOK AT THE 3 VERSES TOGETHER STARTING FROM VERSE 28 IN NIV:
"FOR WE MAINTAIN THAT A MAN IS JUSTIFIED BY FAITH APART FROM OBSERVING THE LAW. 29 IS GOD THE GOD OF JEWS ONLY? IS HE NOT THE GOD OF GENTILES TOO? YES, OF GENTILES TOO. 30 SINCE THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD, WHO WILL JUSTIFY THE CIRCUMCISED BY FAITH AND UNCIRCUMCISED THROUGH THAT SAME FAITH."
IT IS SO TRUE THAT THERE IS "ONE" GOD BY NATURE WE DO NOT DISPUTE THAT. SO LETS LOOK AT WHO THIS "JUSTIFIER" GOD IS.
IN JOHN John 5:22-23 TELLS US THAT JESUS IS THAT PERSON THEREFORE JESUS MUST BE GOD AS ONLY GOD CAN JUSTIFY HIS CREATIONS
The scribe at Mark 12:32 in answer to Jesus quotation of Deut. 6:4 had this to say: "The scribe said to him: "Teacher, you well said in line with truth, He is One, and there is no other than He."
BUT WHO IS THIS GOD THAT JESUS IS REFERRING TO SEE MALACHI 3"1 & ZAC. 12:10 - TITUS 2:13 - PHILIPPIANS 2:6 ETC.
Notice how this scribe replied to Jesus use of Deut. 6:4. The scribe said "He is One, (NOT They are One) and there is no other that HE (NOT Them)."
THIS IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO OTHER "GOD" WHO WE ARE TO WORSHIP IF WE CREATE ANYTHING & WORSHIP IT THEN WE ARE IDOLIZING WHICH IS A SIN WE ARE TO HONOUR THE SON AS WE HONOUR THE FATHER (John 5:22-23) ALSO WE HAVE TO CONSIDER THE "COMPOSITE UNITY OF GODHEAD"
Also, trinitarians have stated that the use of "elohehnu" which is translated "our God," at Deuteronomy 6:4 means "our Gods."
ASSUMPTION ON THE AUTHORS PART AS WE STATED EARLIER IT CLEARLY SAYS "LORD OUR GOD" COMPARE IT FOR YOUR SELF THIS IS TYPICAL "READING IN TO" SOMEONE ELSE'S MIND.
First off, this flies straight in the face of the trinity doctrine, for trinitarians do not believe that their God is "3 Gods", but rather ONE God, 3 Persons. Or as some have put it, "Three Who's, One What."
WE HAVE ALREADY SHOWN THAT THERE ARE 3 PERSONS REGARDS THE LAST PART AGAIN THIS IS A WHAT WT TEACHES JWS TO READ & DISTORT THE TRUTH SO TO SUITE THEIR OWN TEACHINGS.
Secondly, Jehovah was the ONE God of the nation of Israel,
not many Gods to them. Paul emphasized this about the Christian Congregation
when he wrote at 1 Cor. 8:6: "there is actually to us one God the Father,
out of whom all things are, and we for him; and there is
one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are, and
we through him."
-
IN NIV WE READ 1 CORINTHIANS LIKE THIS:
"YET FOR US THERE IS BUT ONE GOD, THE FATHER, FROM WHOM ALL THINGS CAME AND FOR WHOM WE LIVE; AND THERE IS BUT ONE LORD, JESUS CHRIST, THROUGH WHOM ALL THINGS CAME AND THROUGH WHOM WE LIVE."
PLEASE NOTE THE UNDERLINED DIFFERENCES FIRST - NOW COMPARE THE DIFFERENT MEANING OF THE PASSAGES.
NOW NOTE THAT IT IS JESUS WHO CREATED "ALL" THINGS - OK.. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT HERE. {see Hebrews 1: 10 also in NWT & you WILL find that it is Jesus who creates everything.}
WHEN YOU TAKE THAT IN TO ACCOUNT - THEN COMPARE GENESIS 1 & 2 = WHO IS THE CREATOR THERE ?? GOD RIGHT!!
NOW CONSIDERING THAT GOD CREATED
ALL THINGS - & 1 CORINTHIANS STATES THAT JESUS CREATED ALL THINGS -
THEN WHO IS JESUS?? GOD RIGHT!!!
HE CAN NOT BE ANYONE ELSE - UNLESS THE WORD OF GOD IS TELLING US A LIE.
Notice, the Apostle Paul said that the "ONE GOD" of the Christian Congregation, was "The FATHER" (who by the way, is ONE PERSON).
DID WE SAY ANYTHING DIFFERENTLY? NO RIGHT
SO HERE THEY GO AGAIN DENYING THE DEITY OF CHRIST THEY ARE SAYING THAT THE SON OF GOD IS SOMEHOW LESS "INFERIOR" BY NATURE THEN HIS FATHER. I ASK YOU IS YOUR CHILD SOMEHOW "LESS HUMAN" THEN YOU??
THINK ABOUT IT FOR A WHILE & THEN TELL US -
More on this verse in the 1 Corinthians section under Scriptural Proofs that the Trinity is Not Biblical. Thus we conclude, that the verse here in Deuteronomy 6:4 does NOT prove the Only True God is 3 persons.
DID WE SAY THAT THE ABOVE VERSE IS STATING THAT GOD IS 3 NO = WE JUST POINTED OUT THAT THE AUTHOR LIKES TO DECEIVE THE READER BY HIS REASONING & READING IN TO THINGS THAT ARE NOT THERE.
WHAT WE MUST DO IS READ THE WHOLE BOOK & THEN MAKE UP OUR MIND AS TO WHO JESUS IS!!
1 CORINTHIANS TELLS US THAT IT WAS JESUS WHO CREATED ALL THINGS & GENESIS ONE & 2 TELL US THAT IT WAS JEHOVAH GOD WHO WAS CREATING EVERYTHING. ALSO READ MALACHI 3:1 & THEN COMPARE WHO JESUS REALLY IS.
IN JEREMIAH 10: 12 WE READ THAT IT WAS GOD WHO CREATED THE EARTH BY HIS POWER ant god that did NOT create Heaven & Earth WILL Perish - Therefore if WT is correct - since Jesus created ALL OTHER Things apart rom heaven & earth HE WILL PERISH SOMETIME in the Future!!!!!! HMMMMMMMM
NOW REALLY THINK ABOUT IT - WHAT DID JESUS CREATE??
HE CREATED ALL THINGS - SO WHAT DOES THAT MAKE HIM??
Jehovah GOD RIGHT!! = NOT the Father, but second identity in Godhead!!
