Few pages further on we read this
Please note the part near the asterisk - Interesting hey! Jesus is the EXPRESS IMAGE OF JEHOVAH GOD.
Not an Arch angel Michael - When did the teaching
change??
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the DEAD is the fundamental BELIEF of Christianity - as paul puts it in Romans 10: 9 "That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, AND BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Paul goes on to say in ! Corinthians this: " And if Christ has Not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith."
The resurrection is a fundamental part or as some would have -condition of belief - for our faith. Paul also confirms this in Romans 4: 25 "He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification." Not His - sins nor His justification - but OURS.
In Philippians 3: 10- 11 paul tells us this; "I want you to know Christ & the Power of His Resurrection & the fellowship of His sharing in His Sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, & s0, somehow, to attain the resurrection from the dead."
There is so much that could be written about this subject, but space & time prevent that happening.
However - Jesus was resurrected in the Flesh as the above materials show - So lets look at few more aspects of this - Luke tells us in Luke 24: 34".. It is TRUE! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon." In verse 34 that I already mentioned - Jesus Himself tells us that it is He as Ghost does not have flesh & bones & in verses 41- 43 Jesus asked for some fish & ate with them. In 1 Peter 1: 3 we read: "Praise be o the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us a NEW Birth into a living hope through the RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ from the dead."
It is so plain to see for all that Jesus died & was resurrected in the sam body & not somehow different body.
It is important to note that English Phrase "resurrection from the dead" evokes a rather different mental picture then does the Greek equivalent "anastaseos nekron" -
WE in English language & culture tend to take the "dead" to be a state of being or the place of habitation of those who are departed, almost as if it were as singular, abstract noun. In Greek, however, the noun is behind "nekron" is a plural one, which means the phrase "anastaasis nekron" may be translated literally as "resurrection from out of dead ones" - as 1 Philippians 3: 11. The Greek expression contains a much more dynamic image, conjuring up a picture of "the standing up from the midst of corpses," and lending weight to the somatic nature of the resurrection body.
However, it is necessary to observe that Paul does not proclaim a "resurrection of the flesh" as subsequent writers have done al la WT etc. Paul maintains a distinction between "sarx" {flesh} & "soma" {body} when it comes to his teaching about resurrection. I 1 Corinthians 15: 51 he tries to explain the mystery of resurrection as a mystery "we will all be changed" - that is that the perishable {flesh} will be changed in to Imperishable - new bodies - as he tells us in verse 52. There is a limitation within the Human language to explain the heavenly things to us in human terms.
Jesus clearly stated that He was Flesh & Bones &
not Flesh & blood - as to the mystery of this only God knows &
not I.
All disciples talk of the same mystery - For more
information on this lets see what Jesus tells us about this subject.
Jesus followed in Traditions extending from Daniel to Pharisees, teaching that there would be a twofold resurrection: the righteous to reward and the wicked to judgement.
The clearest discussion on ths subject is & Jesus teaching is found in Matthew 22: 23-33; Mark 12: 18 - 27; & Luke 20: 34 - 35 commonly known as the "Triple - tradition story of Jesus' controversy with the Sadducees: It goes like this -- I am citing from Mark NIV.
"Then the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him {Jesus} with a question. 19 "'Teacher,' they said, 'Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and have children for his brother. 20 Now there were seven brothers. The first one marries and died without leaving any children. 21 The second one married the widow, but he also died, leaving no child. 22 In fact, none of the seven left any children. Last of all, the women dies too. 23 At the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?' 24 Jesus replied, "Are you not in error because you do not know the scriptures or the power of God? 25 When the dead rise, they will Neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 26 Now about the dead rising - have you not read in the book of Moses, in the account of the bush, how God said to him, I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? 27 He is NOT the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"
What life will be like after the resurrection is far beyond our human understanding or ability to imagine as no one has been there & returned to tell us about it & even then we wouldn't understand it as we haven't experienced it. We find this in the Bible also In Isaiah 64: 4 & 1 Corinthians 2: 9 we read: : No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him."
We need NOT be afraid of eternal life because of the Unknown as we will be with the King in His Kingdom - Blessed be His Name forever.
Instead of wondering what God's coming kingdom will be like - we should be concentrating on our relationship with Christ RIGHT NOW, because it is right now that will determine where we will be!! If we learn to Love Him now & do His will RIGHT NOW - we learn to trust Him Right Now - we have no need to be afraid what is in stall for us in His Kingdom.
Sadducees real question wasn't about marriage - but about the resurrection. So we should learn from what Jesus told them - we will be like angels in heaven.
Sadducees had some 613 laws by the time Jesus came - so it was hard for them to distinguish which Laws were more binding then others - They even tried to make some distinctions by having the Major & Minor rules & regulations. With so many sects of Judaism & so many priests it was impossible for anyone to know. Good book to study is Hosea.
Luke goes on further & says that "we are God's children, since we are children of Resurrection" - sort of adds the finishing touch - doesn't it? We are limited by time & physical bodies in this life - but when we are resurrected in Christ - none of these limitations will apply any more.
The question arises - Do YOU Want to be with Christ in
His kingdom? If your answer is Yes - the accept Him as your saviour
& die with Him in your sins & repent from the OLD & Became
a NEW CREATION I JESUS CHRIST'S NAME.
I would like to share with you - what Russell said about
Jesus' resurrection also - It is scanned from His book Studies in the scripture
volume 1 page 230 & 231.
I only scanned part of the pages - but as you can see Jesus resurrected as a Spirit Being & Not Human - Yet Bible tells us that Jesus was raised in the same body. Who is correct - Bible or Russell??
Not also that Russell tells us that EVERY ONE who is Born of The Spirit will be like Jesus. Note also that It was The Holy Spirit who came upon Jesus & NOT an ACtive Force { Left image first paragraph}. Note what Russell tells us about being born of the Spirit on page 233 - We are Joint - Heir with Christ - through Grace & our begetting of the Spirit.
We Must be Born Again of the Spirit or there is no hope - even Russell agrees - Yet Bible students today & WT Deny This Bible teaching. I find this very intriguing - How about you??
I Hope that this has given you further insight in to the Subject of the Cross & Resurrection - there is so much more that could be written on this subject, But time & space doesn't allow that. So I would like to recommend that you buy your self number of Bibles as I did - Like KJV - NIV - Life Application - Full life etc - as well as Bible dictionaries - Dictionaries of Jesus & the Gospel's - Dictionary of Paul's Letters - Dictionary of Later NEW Testament etc. By reading different writings of MANY Authors & not just one or two - you will be able to broaden your study into this subject even more.
God Bless
