First lets start on a historical journey to see why there is a need for Spiritual Rebirth!!

When God Created Adam & Eve – He did it to enjoy fellowship with them & they with Him. Their disobedience to His one & only command led them in to a Spiritual death & not physical death. AS soon as they sinned the Spiritual wealth that they had disappeared  & the spiritual vacuum or void was established between God & His creation.

This consequence of sin was seen in the second generation – when the oldest son Cain killed his younger brother Able.  Just as Adam & Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden  so it was with Cain & he led a nomadic life.

The good thing from all of this is – was that God promised us a saviour that would be born of women – This was to be Jesus Himself.

We should learn from this & not blame God for tempting Adam & Eve with the tree of knowledge.

Good example is Abram ( which means – father of exalted) – God changed Abrams name to Abraham ( which means – father of multitude). Abraham was a prime example of FAITH – even though God tested him with his only son Isaac – he did not hesitate for one minute & passed the test of faith without a blemish. I don’t know of many people today who would have or have that much faith today.

Abraham recognized God as the Almighty Lord of all & the Author of a covenant by which the Hebrews would become a mighty nation.

Abraham's Heart was completely set on God – this is something that only few had in the OT time & many do not understand today.

We humans look at what somebody does outwardly & God looks at where OUR HEART IS i.e.. He looks for inward feelings of Heart (1 Samuel 16:7).

Reason for this is – that the Scripture tells us that ‘The Centre of moral soul & spiritual life is found in our heart’

Our conscience for example is associated with the Heart & not what we express outwardly. In NT we read that it is the heart that condemns us (1 John 3:19-21).

All Moral conditions from the highest to the lowest are said to centre in the heart & sometimes the heart is used to represent true nature or character of a person.

During the time of Old Testament – there was a need for innocent sacrifices to atone for peoples sins – which God did not want. He desired a personal relationship with each & everyone of us – just like He had in the beginning with Adam & Eve before they transgressed.

In Jeremiah 31”31-34 we read that God will Give us a new covenant where He will write His Laws in our heart – This is confirmed in Hebrews 8: 8-13; 10:16.

The heart is the field where the seed ( The Word of God) is sown (Matthew 13:19; Luke 8:15) i.e.. Natural laws of God are written there.  Then what we humans have to do is RENEW the HEART so that God can write His laws in our hearts.

How do we do this when Most peoples have Hearts of Stone? In Ezek. 11:19 God tells us that He will change this heart of stone into the heart of Flesh.

BEING BORN AGAIN does this. – That is Being renewed from within by the Holy Spirit.

Matthew tells us in Chapter 3: 11b that Jesus will baptize us with Spirit & FIRE!!

Juts as the fire scorches the field for a NEW start same happens with us humans. After a while NEW Buds start appearing upon the burnt trees & new seed take sower from the OLD one that has been burnt.

When the Holy SPirit Scorches the OLD - there is a NEW BUD starting to emerge from within us!!

This is a personal choice & it is not forced on anyone, but there are few consequences if one is not Born of The Spirit.

Just as LOVE Can Not be Forced upon anyone - Nor can the New Birth be forced upon anyone.

God is continually chasing us so that we accept His Free gift & We Return home, but He DOES NOT Force anyone to came back home. ONLY YOU can make that decision!!

In John 3:3-7 – we read “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, ‘Except’ man be born again he can not enter the Kingdom of God.  – Note the words Except man be- This does not leave anyone out – OK. Nor does this mean – being literally being born a new baby.

In verse 5 Jesus tells us  again – “..Except man be born of ‘Water & Spirit’ he can not..”
Note the words Except man be – again this does not leave anyone out.

What Jesus is saying – is – that we Must allow the Holy Spirit to come upon us & that we allow Him to lead is closer to God.

In 1 John 5:1 – we read “Everyone who believes that Jesus is Christ is born of God & Everyone who loves His Father Loves His Son.”  Note again Everyone who believes – No one is left out again.

In Galatians 4: 6-7 Apostle Paul writes “Because YOU are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son Into Our Hearts, the Spirit who “calls out” ABBA FATHER. So that You are no longer a servant, but a son;  and since You are a son, God has made You also a Heir through Christ.”

In Romans 8: 14-16 we read –“ For as many are led by the Spirit of God, they are Son of God. For you didn’t receive the Spirit of Bondage again  to fear; but you have received the Spirit of Adoption, where we cry ABBA FATHER. The Spirit it self beareth witness with our Spirit, that we are children of God.”

Do you have Spirit crying out Abba Father on your behalf to God – Are you an Adopted son of God??

Note what the verses 8-10 say also – “If any man does not have the Spirit of Christ in his/hers heart he / she does not belong to Christ. When Christ’s Spirit dwells in our hearts then there is no sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

 I would like to ask you again – Do you have the Spirit of Christ calling out Daddy, Daddy
(Abba, Father – that’s what it means) to God & saying that you are adopted Son of God??
