Australian Acacias (Wattles)

The information on this site has been gained from my growing of nearly 200 species of Australian acacias in a relatively dry area of south east Queensland near Laidley approximately 80km west of Brisbane and near a suburban block in Gatton about 100km west of Brisbane. It is presented to offer assistance to other people who may also wish to grow these spectacular plants.

August, 2005, saw the removal of about half of the plants growing in Gatton. A nearby housing development required that a large stormwater pipe go through the wattle garden. (more details here) In early 2008, the wattles are making good progress along the bank of the stormwater gully. (more details here)
