During August, 2005, I was informed that an excavation to lay large stormwater pipes would mean that about half of my wattles would have to be removed.

These were the older and larger plants that had to go. Many of the smaller ones had already been removed and placed into pots. Two photos of the plot in its earlier days can be seen here.

Rather than lose the larger plants, they were also dug up. Some were transplanted into the yards of neighbours and others were placed in large pots.

Nearing completion the drain swung into action during a storm.

With the drain completed at the end of November 2005, the planting began again with the plants that survived the long wait in pots.
