Brisbane: Boombana Publications, 1996
(296 pages, 220 x 160 mm, sewn PB, ISBN 0958668507)

A tribute to an outstanding figure of Australian psychology

John Philip Sutcliffe began his career in psychology by enrolling in Psychology I at the University of Sydney in 1946. He retired from the same department as McCaughey Professor in 1992. Today, as Professor Emeritus, he continues to be an active researcher and contributes significantly to the research output of the Sydney department. His colleagues and friends have honoured him with a collection of original papers reflecting his diverse interests, which will serve as a reminder of J.P Sutcliffe's rigorous and thorough style of exposition, of his demanding approach to science and of his precious contribution to psychological research.

"[The contributors demonstrate] a characteristic way of questioning fundamental assumptions of the discipline" ... "a collection that is thoughtful and thought-provoking in its own right." (Pip Pattison, Univ. of Melbourne, in Australian Journal of Psychology , 1997, 49.1, p.56).
