While there are many vast pockets of wilderness close to our major cities, Australian Wilderness places are often very issolated and remote. This commonly means that there are few ammenities, if any at all, and limited life resources such as water, food and shelter, things which are often taken for granted.
We are fortunate in having so many wilderness areas, threatened though they may be. Following I have represented only a few as well as one or two more civilized places. These areas my family and I have experienced personally and we hope that our account will lend you an insight into this our land.... Australia.
Australia is the largest island in the world.. and the smallest continent. What makes Australia, Australian, is our land and the nature of our world. Over the passage of time we become part of the land and the land moulds what is essentially us, regardless of skin pigmentation, creed or heritage. If you spend enough time here in Oz, you will inevidably take on what is recognised as the Australian character.
So what makes us Australian? I wish I knew! But for each of us it is an individual reality. Welcome to our reality! Ohhh... btw... the slight variations in spelling and grammar you will find here enhance the individual character and beauty or what is individually our experience, and in no way are to be considered flaws or defects of these pages.
