Defence
Defence
This is the fourth in the "lessons on play" series, with 100 hands on defensive play.
Mike explains the tools defenders use - attitude and count signals, and lead conventions.
The tools are shown in action, and as always, Mike provides many tips along the way. There is a strong emphasis on counting, which is a central theme in bridge play.
There is even a Chamber of Horrors - horrible plays that every player has made or will make, unless they buy this software!
As you play through the hands, Mike constantly poses questions to test your understanding of the material.
Req. IBM Compatible, Windows 3.1 up to XP, 3Mb hard disk space.

Conventions
Conventions
Released in January 2001, this programme takes an interactive look at some well known (and some not so well known) conventions. By actually bidding hands, the student can learn when a convention should be used, and when not. Examples are given of cases where it is NOT appropriate to use a convention, and the reasons are explained.
As in Mike's other programmes, the reader is asked key questions along the way - it is not all just an armchair ride.
There is some original material which you will not find in other published sources.
Each convention is classified, with the RED classification being for those with some danger inherent for the user. In each case, if there is a downside to using a convention, Mike clearly explains this.
