- Hon. JOHN YOUNG, Governor of Hawai'i Island
1802/1812, born 17th March 1744
in Lancashire, married 1stly, Ali'i Namokuelua, born 1780,
married 2ndly, 1805, Ali'i Ka'oana'eha Mele Kuamo'o, born about 1786,
died 22nd January 1850 in Honolulu, daughter of Ali'i Kaleipaihala
Kalanikuimamao, and his wife, Ali'i nui Kaliko'okalani, and had issue.
He died 17th December 1835 in Kawaihae, Kohala.
- Robert Young (by Namokuelua), born 14th February 1796 in
Kawaihae, he joined the American Navy at age 16 and served in the War
of 1812 where he was captured by the British and taken as prisoner, and
sent to the island of Bermuda, where nothing definite was ever heard
from him again. He died 1813? in Bermuda.
- Hon. James Kanehoa Young (by Namokuelua), born 7th August
1797 in Kawaihae, Governor of Maui [1842/1844] - [1.10.1851] , educated
at school in the United States; he became a merchant mariner and sailed
between Philadelphia, his home port, and England; he was the translator
for the Hawai'ian Royal party that travelled to England to meet with
King George IV; he served as a member of the House of Nobles, and from
1846, he was a member of the first Board of Land Commissioners under
Kamehameha III; married 1stly, Sarah Kaniaulono Davis, born 15th
January 1797 in Waimea, daughter of Isaac Davis, and his first wife,
Nakai'akalima'alualu, married 2ndly, Ha'ale, and had issue. He
died 1st October 1851 in Honolulu.
- Jane Lahilahi Young (by Ha'ale), married Nu'uanu, and
had issue.
- Ali'i nui Fanny Kekelaokalani Young (by Ka'oana'eha),
born 21st July 1806 in Kawaihae, married 1stly, Henry Coleman Lewis,
married 2ndly, 1835, Ali'i George Naea (see
above), and had issue, one daughter. She died 4th September 1880 in
Honolulu, buried in the Royal Mausoleum.
- Mary Polly Pa'a'aina [later known as Mary 'I'i,
after her adoption by John Papa 'I'i and his wife Sarai], born about
1833, educated at Royal School, married
21st December 1851 in Honolulu, J. A. Griswold, and had issue. She died
28th May 1853 in Honolulu.

2ndly, 1830, Dr. Thomas Charles Byrd Rooke, born 18th May 1806, died sp
28th November 1858 in Kailua. She died sp 1866 in Honolulu,
buried in the Royal Mausoleum.
- Ali'i nui John Kaleipaihala Young [Keoni Ana 'Opio] (by
Ka'oana'eha), born 12th March 1810 in Kawaihae, 4th Kuhina Nui of the
Hawai'i Kingdom [10.6.1845] - [16.1.1855]; he served as Member of the
House of Nobles 1841/1856, Member of the Privy Council 1845/1857,
Minister of the Interior, a Judge of the Supreme Court, and Chamberlain
in the household of Kamehameha III. He adopted his nephew, Peter Young
Kaeo in 1836; married, 1stly, Ali'i Julia Alapa'i, born 1802, elder
daughter of Nahili, and his wife, Ali'i nui Kauwa'a, younger daughter
of Ali'i nui Alapainui, married 2ndly, Ali'i nui Hikoni, married 3rdly,
Ali'i nui Ulumaheihei, daughter of Ali'i nui Waipa, by his wife, Ali'i
nui Kekaikuihala, daughter of Ali'i Nuhi of Waimea, and Ali'i nui
Kaohelelani of Hana. He died sp 18th July 1857 in Honolulu,
buried in the Royal Mausoleum.
- Ali'i nui Jane Lahilahi Young (by Ka'oana'eha), born May
1813 in Kawaihae, married, Ali'i nui Joshua Kaeo, and had issue, as
well as further issue by HM King Kamehameha III. She died 12th
January 1862 in Honolulu, buried in the Royal Mausoleum.

Maui, son of Ali'i nui Ke'eaumoku Papaiahiahi,
Governor of Maui, and his wife, Ali'i nui Namahana'i'Kaleleokalani;
Member of the House of Nobles 1843/1844. He was appointed Acting
Governor of Oahu in order to put down a potential rebellion there,
which was uncovered on 1st April 1831, he remained at Fort Honolulu
serving as the Commander in Chief, for one or two years; married 1stly,
Ali'i Keouawahine, daughter of Ali'i Kauhiwawaeono, and his wife, Ali'i
Loewahine, married 2ndly, Ali'i Ha'aheo,
daughter
of Ali'i nui Keoua Kalanikupuapa'ikalaninui Ahilapalapa, High Chief of
Kohala, and his wife, Ali'i Akahi-a-Kawalu, married 3rdly, Ali'i Analea
Keohokalole, born 1816, died 6th April 1869,daughter of
Ali'i Aikanaka,
