PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY:  Predecessor state was founded in 1454 when Sheikh Sadruddin Sadr-i-Jahan married a daughter of Sultan BAHLUL LODI of Delhi (1451/1489), and was given a number of villages in jagir.     • Nawab Sir ZULFIQAR ALI KHAN, born 1875, Kt., C.S.I. [cr.1911], married and had issue. He  died 26th May 1933.
      • Honourable Nawabzada KHURSHID ALI KHAN, born 1909 at Lahore, M.B.E., educated at Aitchison Chiefs' College, Lahore and at Cambridge Preparatory School, Dehra Dun then privately in England.
      • Begum Saheba Kudsia, born 2nd April 1909, member of the Constituent Assembly from 1946 to 1950. After the formation of the provisional Parliament she became its member in 1950-1952, member of the Rajya Sabha 1952/1956 and 1962/1968, elected to the UP legislative council in 1958, represented Sandila assembly segment in UP assembly many times, appointed minister in UP cabinet and held the portfolios of social welfare, animal husbandry, fisheries, waqfs and sports. She had been the president/office bearer of almost all women's voluntary organizations like All India Women's Conference, Council of Child Welfare, Council of Moral and Social Hygiene and Council of University Women etc. In the field of education she contributed her full might to spread it particularly among girls. She was the president of Karamat Husain Muslim Girls Degree College Lucknow, IR College Sandila and Aizaz Rasool Degree College, Sandila. President of the All India Women’s Hockey Association. She was also the chairperson of UP Minorities Commission 1979/1989, married Nawab Syed AIZAZ RASUL of Sandila, and had issue, 2 sons and 2 daughters. She died 1st August 2001 and was laid to rest with full state honours at her ancestral graveyard in Sandila, near Lucknow.(#2)
