PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY:
Founded
by Kirat Singh around 1000AD. Formerly a feudatory of Bashahr, the
state
was declared independent after the expulsion of the Gurkhas in 1815,
but
at the same time it lost its own tributary states of Bharauli and
Madhan.

GURKHA OCCUPATION 1803/1815
- Rana KEHAR SINGH 1803/1839, took refuge in
Kullu during the
Gurkha occupation,
the state lapsed to the British authorities on his death without direct
issue. He died sp 1839.
INTERREGNUM 1839/1840
- Rana PRITAM SINGH 1840/1858, a collateral
relative, married and had issue.

succeeded
12th November 1874 (#1),
of unsound mind and the state was controlled by the Council of Regency
1874/1896, married and had issue. He died 24th August 1914.
