BECOME QUALIFIED
If you are already an experienced and practising Modern Jive teacher
If you are currently teaching Modern Jive and wish to advance your career by obtaining a recognised qualification, the International Academy of Modern Jive can help. Recognition of Prior Learning or recognition of current competencies, is a way of recognising skills and knowledge already gained. In accordance with the “Australian Standards For Dance Teachers”, the IAMJ implement RPL processes which mean that an experienced and practising Modern Jive teacher is not necessarily required to complete the IAMJ Teacher Training Course(s) and can be fast-tracked to undertake the appropriate exam and become professionally qualified receiving the Teachers Diploma in Modern Jive.
Please contact the IAMJ for assistance on your eligibility on gaining RPL of your skills and experience that you already have as a Modern Jive teacher.
Although experienced, many Modern Jive teachers still choose to undertake one of the 3 Modern Jive Teacher Training Courses as they provide candidates with the most effective and comprehensive preparation for gaining the IAMJ/ADS professional qualification.
If you would like to become a Modern Jive teacher
After completing the IAMJ Modern Jive Foundation Course, teachers then accrue on-the job teaching experience to qualify to do the IAMJ/ADS exam in order to receive the professional qualification.
As your teaching progresses and you gain more experience and become more skilled, the IAMJ offers further teacher training courses to prepare you for the IAMJ/ADS higher qualifications.
Naturally, the IAMJ trainers involved in the teacher training courses are not part of the examining procedure so as to uphold complete impartiality. In addition, ADS examiners also participate in every Modern Jive Professional Teachers Exam.
