I have a broad experience in the computer industry with major hardware and software manufacturers, including high-end digital effects for film and television and ten years sub-contracting as an IT technical writer and instructional designer. My tertiary education was in teaching and computer programming. My strengths are in computer training centre management, user documentation, instructional design, courseware development and forms. I have successfully managed cost centres within computer and multimedia organisations and consistently over-achieved revenue targets. I am customer focused whilst placing a high emphasis on achieving cost-effective results in key business areas. I like to working in a team which is aligned to achieving corporate goals and objectives. |
I have established five IT training centres for various computer companies. This involved strategic planning, marketing, advertising, team building and development of staff, training centre design, fit-out, specification, set up and administration of a computerised course registration and billing system. I co-founded and administered Canberra LifeSkills Seminars, a not-for-profit, community and professional development training organisation, run by volunteers - whom I supervised. This organisation is still operating successfully in Canberra today. I designed and developed a 60-minute interactive CD-ROM multimedia training course on "International Humanitarian Law" for Red Cross in six working days with a team of nine others. In my twenties, I won several Australian Gold Medals for dance and figure skating. |
