4 The Door that isn't there, one character falls through a door and winds up someplace else in the house, the others pass through the door normally
5 who goes there- a ghostly shape quickly flits through someone's peripheral vision
6 temperature rises slightly
7 The hanging corpses from the Sixth Sense school, however these could speak to a character as they swing/ turn in the non-existent breeze - possibly no one else hears them or is looking at the time.
8 who did that- something falls and breaks nearby
9 Trapdoors to secret hidey-holes. Anyone fooling about in suspicious places - candle holders, bookcases and the like could activate trapdoors that send themselves through or other characters. This immediately splits the party making them more vulnerable and everyone else hears the screams yet the character has vanished and transports a posse member straight to one of the creepier parts of the house - cellars etc.
10 A cat or other animal that acts strangely/goes demented whenever ghosts appear (that the characters cannot see)
11 Scratching from behind the walls
12 A breeze that sends all flames flickering and then blows the lights out (regardless of whether they are protected or not?)
13 The fireplace that lights itself with a large gout of flame and then settles to burn normally giving off heat.
14 Dust/soot that can get thrown/blown into a characters' eyes to blind them - just to make them panic and jumpy.
15 whispers in the wind- undecipherable whispers can be heard
16 temperature lowers slightly
17 Ghostly lights/candle flame moving in the hallway/landing, when they get there it's gone.
18 Doors slamming and becoming jammed/getting locked behind characters when they enter rooms

NASTY
 
1 Door handles that are either so cold that characters loose some skin after gripping them (try shooting with that hand pardner) or so hot that they burn themselves.
2 duck!!! and ilusionary axe flies at someone (maybe only they see it)
3 Scene from Ghostbusters when the posse find a quaint old lady knitting (or something) yet when disturbed she turns into a wailing banshee that comes flying at them causing them to wet their trousers. (terror 9)
4 A character feels some item in his possession moving as if it is being stolen, when he turns he only finds another posse member who "claims" to know nothing about it and didn't see a thing.
5 BANG!!! someones gun goes off (missing everyone)
6 Ouch!!! temp of an object rises sharply
7 A characters leg goes through a weak floorboard/ stair. He feels something underneath pulling at it - when he regains his leg, his boot could be missing, or the boot could have bite marks in it. Or alternatively it could start to pull him through while he cries "It's got my leg, help me." Remember anyone shooting, will be shootin blind into below the stair area and might hit the characters leg.

9 The animal that just seems to sit there watching them as they move about the room - anyone approaching it and touching it, finds that just as their hand goes through it, it vanishes with a snarl as if it has been disturbed.
10 The character finds themselves in a really dark room, when reaching for a lantern or a wall, the find it oozing, when the lights come on they find it's blood.

DARN NEAR FATAL
 
1 Bang!!! someones gun goes off and someone is randomly injured.
2 Pointy!!! a sharp object flies at someone (nimbleness check 7 to avoid being stuck)
3 Blood dripping or running down a wall from an ancient crime. Actually the crime could be replayed in front of the characters only they cannot see the ghosts only see the splashes of blood as they are thrown onto nearby furniture, walls, floors (characters?) with the accompanying screams.
4 Finding skeletons that are half fused into the ground with only their torso, head and arms showing. If the characters don't start getting worried about what did it, let them find out the hard way.
5 They find a manbeast in one of the rooms, it will quickly approach them, arms extended. (it is actually asking for help, but looks like an attack)
6 At the top of the stairs or near a banister someone could get pushed over, accidents do happen.
7 Phantom (from RVC2) Character witnesses a horrible death scene, hard (9) guts check
8 Doppleganger, a shapeshifter appears in the form of one of the characters who disappeared earlier acting exactly like the "Real" character (bring the player in on this as if it is really him) eventually they will run into the "Real" character, at that point it will change into it's true self (use the skinshifter stats from RVC pg114)
9 Gremlins, they find a room full of a d6 +1 gremlins
10 Lucky Break, they somehow find what they are looking for, (fall through a trap door or whatever)
