classroom A general listing of all U3A courses given within metropolitan Brisbane is given below. For a description of each individual course, click on the link to the appropriate location, after the general list.

For information on "How to join a class", go to the FAQ webpage. Some classes may have no vacancies, but if you are interested, it is worth contacting the tutor as you may be put on a waiting list. Tutors’ names and phone numbers are not included in this website but are included in U3A’s printed Newsletter for each term. You will receive a Newsletter each term after you join U3A ($35 single or $50 double, per year). Please present your Membership Card at the start of each Term.

Most classes are given at U3A’s main campus on the 4th floor of 150 Edward Street, Brisbane City (the June Dally-Watkins Centre). Additional classes are given at other venues listed in the Term Newsletter. These include other City locations, Bellbowrie/Moggill, Beenleigh, Northside, Southside, Westside and Queensland Art Gallery, Wynnum, and the Queensland Museum. If a course listed below can’t be found in the locations to which links are already provided, check the printed Newsletter.

MONDAY

INTRODUCTION to BASIC EMAIL & I’NET - Level 1
For those who wish to get started with email or(Outlook Express) and to also discover the infinite world of the internet. Prerequisite basic Windows and Word.
Mondays: 8am -9.30am: Course 10 weeks:

INTRO to BASIC WINDOWS & COMPUTER MANAGEMENT
A compulsory course on how to manage your computer at a basic level.
Mondays: 9.45am-11.15am Course 10 weeks:

WORD 2003 - LEVEL 2
Gain a sound knowledge of basic word processing: prerequisite Basic Windows and General Computing level 1 courses or higher:
Mondays: 1.15pm-2.45pm: Course 9 Weeks

TUESDAY

MOVIE MAKING - Level 2: Time: 8.00-9.30am
Planning to final film: prerequisite computer skills and some editing experience.
Course 10 wks: Cost: $30.00 plus notes, if any

MOVIE MAKING - Level 1.
Basic capturing, editing, burning to DVD.
Prerequisite: General Computing Level 1

PUBLISHER 2003 - Level 3 - Part 1 of 3
Learn to produce professional type books, newsletters: greeting cards, brochures etc

Extend your view of level 1 with self-paced practical exercises in Windows XP and Word 2003. File management using Windows Explorer will be the main thrust. Notes supplied and a CD containing exercises, and a floppy disc for those with no USB memory stick.

Improve and enhance photographs; restore old photographs, incorporate your photos into greeting cards, calendars etc. Prerequisite Word Level 2
