Dr Victor Gunasekara

Dr Gunasekara migrated to Queensland in 1969. He was one of the founder members of the Sri Lanka Society of Queensland which was founded under the initiative of Pat Abey.. As publications secretary he is responsible for editing the Society's quarterly Newsletter and for maintaining the Web page of the Society.

Dr Gunasekara has been active in combatting the propaganda of Sri Lankan separatists in Australia since 1985. He has written numerous booklets on the subject including:

• The Myth of Tamil Eelaam
• Human Rights in Sri Lanka and the Claims of the Tamil Separatists
• Some International Aspects of the Sri Lankan Crisis
• The Role of Expatriates in the Resolution of the Sri Lankan Crisis
• The Senator Missen Report on Sri Lanka
• Australia's Role in the Sri Lankan Crisis
• The Sri Lankan Problem in a Humanistic Perspective
• India and the Sri Lankan Problem: the International Law Perspective
• Australia's Sri Lankan Policy and some other Policy Issues
• The Devolution Proposals of the Sri Lankan Government
• The Myth of Discrimination against Tamils in Sri Lanka

He is also the Secretary of the Buddhist Society of Queensland and has served on the management committee of the Brisbane Buddhist Vihara. In the area of Buddhism he has written several tracts including:

• Basic Buddhism
• The Mind and the Heart in Buddhism
• Buddhism and Vegetarianism
• Buddhism, Blasphemy and the Critique of Religion
• The Buddhist Attitude to God
• Western Buddhism and a Theravada Heterodoxy

He is also the Secretary of the Humanist Society of Queensland and the editor of its journal Queensland Humanist . In the area of Humanism he has written several tracts including:

• Postulates of Secular Humanism
