The Manussa Group

The Manussa Group is dedicated to the promotion of Humanism, the Critique of Religion, Rationalism, Atheism, Secularism and related areas. It does so by the publication of booklets on these subjects and by maintaining this website on the Internet.

The main principle underlying the group is that human beings are not subject to God or any other divine authority. It argues that Reason, not Faith, should be the foundation of belief, that ethical principles should be grounded on human reason and compassion not on religious dogma and that human problems can be solved by human beings without external divine help. It seeks to expose the fallacies and errors of supernatural religion and investigates the crimes committed in the name of religion in the past and in the present. It challenges the moral basis of theistic religion and seeks to establish the shortcomings of religious ethics.

Manussa is an Indian word meaning a human being, or humanity in general. The Manussa Group pays special attention to the secular and humanist movement in Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Eastern thought generally.

The group publishes the series Manussa Tracts on Humanism. Some of these are carried in this webside in the folder Selected Documents on Humanism.

We welcome manuscripts for publication.
