Systems Engineering Australia (SEA) was established in 1996 and provided specialised consultancy services in the field of environmental risk assessment, especially where quantitative analyses were required. A variety of numerical and statistical modelling systems were developed, all utilising state of the art methodologies.

Our acronym SEA reflects the development of specialised numerical modelling expertise which originated from the coastal and ocean engineering fields. This experience was applied to a wide range of environmental problem solving.

In February 2010, the consulting engineering business of SEA and its associated software systems was acquired by GHD Pty Ltd and Dr Bruce Harper joined GHD as Principal Professional Environment and Risk. New enquiries regarding the types of engineering analyses, services and systems previously developed and offered by SEA should be directed to GHD Pty Ltd or through bruce.harper@ghd.com.

New enquiries regarding the SEA MIRAM insurance loss modelling capability should be directed to Willis Re Australia Pty Ltd.

SEA continues to market and develop its specialty SEAtide tropical cyclone impact modelling system that is in use by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology in the Northern Territory region.
