My home...

This is one area of my 30' x 30' (10m x 10m) lounge. I know it looks a small area in the photograph, but the room is surrounded by glass "walls" on three sides and this photograph merely shows one aspect of the room. It's the size of a comfortable ballroom! The walls are a dusky, rose pink and the "art gallery" is my delight...collected from many sources over the years.

My dining room is large and separate from the formal lounge room. Only a part of it is able to be photographed...the built-in unit, paintings, and other furniture are out of sight in this photograph. The dining room table seats 6 - 8 people comfortably, and the wide expanse of window area allows the "outside to come inside". It's an entertainer's delight!

For the person who likes to be organised, a walk-in pantry is a "must"!

It is so difficult to get a decent photograph of the house, as it is 100' in length, and the features "disappear" in the harsh light of the northern Australian sunlight! The "lilac" in the trees shows what it's like when the jacaranda trees are in bloom during October - December. I have planted about forty (40) of these trees over the domestic area of the property. There's nothing quite like walking the property around 6:00 AM when the birds are beginning their day and the air is fresh and clear!

This is the family room, with the kitchen at the far end. Again, only a part of the room is visible in any one photograph. My overseas guest, Iona, is obviously getting something out of the 'fridge! Hahahahaha!!! I hope it was yummy!

The bookshelves in the family room cover most of the wall on the left-hand side of the photograph above (only a portion of the bookshelf on the right is visible, and the collection of teapots, coffee pots and artifacts is, unfortunately, out of view). I have collected books, in general, with a passion over the years, and I've also been involved in education as a career. It's no wonder I have books to cover walls! However, no matter where I go, I will always retain my cook books! *S* Cooking is one of my passions!
