My interests...

I have a wide variety of interests, and enjoy many hobbies, such as photography, graphic arts, cooking, gardening, music and corresponding with friends in many countries. I have also recently developed a Web design business, which utilises the many skills I have developed over the years.

The links below relate to interests I have been able to pursue in more depth through the growth of information technology. If you have discovered Web sites that you think might be of interest to me, please email me.

Chat
Modschat is full of 50+ people from around the world.
If you have a microphone as an integrated feature of your computer system, you can talk (like a regular telephone call) online with people all over the world using either Excite Voice Chat or NetMeeting.
ICQ is another means of talking regularly with your friends, and can be downloaded free.

Gardening
Online Global Gardening is interesting and informative. It was Australia's first national online gardening magazine, and offers well-informed views, news and tips on the art and science of gardening in Australian conditions.

Herbs
Visit my cyber herb patch. It's full of herb-related information, recipes, potions and lotions.
If you're keen to find out (or, learn more) about herbs, you'll discover lots of fascinating information at Herbnet, including medicinal and culinary uses of herbs, links to related sites, and reference pictures.

Cooking
Sheila's Recipes is the place to go to view my recipe pages. I have gathered some of  my personal culinary favourites, as well as those contributed by friends around the world, so new recipes will be added on a weekly basis. If you have a recipe that you would like to have included, just E-mail it to me. I cook and photograph all the recipes, so be patient!
The Vegetarian Society of the UK has a fine selection of vegetarian recipes. I am not a vegetarian, but that doesn't stop me enjoying the site and the food!
www.GourmetSpot.com is worth bookmarking for the simple fact that you can't live on-line alone. We all need food! Something to drink would be nice too! GourmetSpot offers a massive database of recipes. It also has information on wine, beer and other drinks, as well as explanations about the fine art of cocktail making. You can even learn about starting your own herb garden, or how to pack a picnic basket!
Veggies Unite is another vegetarian site that provides tips for cooking and growing your ingredients.
Epicurious Food has almost 9,000 recipes. The site allows you to do keyword searches, browse by category, or check the latest additions.
The Internet Epicurean provides recipes, entire menus, and a forum for cooks. This site is full of mouth-watering goodness!
Mamma's Dining Room is another informative site where, apart from browsing through a comprehensive range of recipes, you can also register for Mamma's tips of the week.
Want a "recipe of the day"? You can find one under "Family & Kids" at:

Music
The Shellac Shanty has lots of very old 78 rpm jazz records, and links to similar sites. Well worth a visit!
Bourbon Street provides a feast of jazz.
For a taste of contemporary Aboriginal music, visit Yothu Yindi.

Dogs
www.dog.com is an exhaustive database of information covering all things canine. Search for information on specific breeds, read dog-related news items, post a doggie question on the message board, or browse the dog photographers' gallery.

Drinks
IDrink is for people who take their drink seriously. Select from a list of 162 alcoholic and non-alcoholic recipes. Everything from Amaretto to Zima!
Wines from around the world: Australian, Californian and French
The Wine Planet is the place to go when you feel like spending money online! Here you'll find information about wine, reviews, and a search engine that will track down popular vintages at less than retail price.
Art
Browse through the art galleries of the world. Perhaps you may be motivated to visit your local gallery or museum after this experience! Le Louvre, Tate Gallery, National Gallery of Australia, National Museum of American Art.

I have listed only some of the interests I have. I will endeavour to add some other topics as I have time.
