Alexanders...

Smyrnium olusatrum
Alexanders
Alexanders is a bitter herb that has been cultivated since early Greek times. The root is diuretic, the seeds are used as a condiment, and crushed leaves are used as a soothing and healing treatment for cuts and minor abrasions.

Alexanders was grown as a salad and pot herb before celery became popular, with the leaves, stems, shoots and flower buds used, sometimes after blanching, in soups and fish dishes.

Alexanders prefers moist soil in full sun.
