RECLAIM DEMOCRACY from Myths, Lies and the Consequences

A challenging evening designed to motivate

Three top speakers look at Australia and the World today and paint a vision for the future

 Bob Blain imageBOB BLAIN Emeritus professor of Sociology at Southern Illinois University. Beyond Capitalism: Confronting the Endless Growth Paradigm. Capitalism based on the assumption of scarcity is destroying the environment thereby threatening to increase the very condition capitalism is supposed to reduce, scarcity. The proper foundation of economics is entropy, that is, decay, disintegration, loss of available energy. A paradigm based on entropy shows the need to define money on the model of metric units of measure which can improve cooperation worldwide to everyone.s benefit . Rob Blain is regarded as one of the world's leading money reformers. He is a sought after speaker and is associated with the Committee on Monetary and Economic Reform (COMER).

 HOWARD GUILLE Secretary of the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU). He will outline the shocking full implications of the new Industrial Relations laws, and how they are setting the low road for Australian society and economy.

 Noel Preston ImageNOEL PRESTON from Earth Charter Ethics and the Global Common Good . Using the global ethics statement of the Earth Charter as a basis, Noel will explore issues of eco-justice (which embrace both social justice and ecological integrity) confronting Australia. He will argue for the restoration of democracy and accountability in the Australian context as a pre-requisite to Australia's responsibility to support democratic governance institutions globally.
