WELCOME TO FROG HOLLOW BARNSTAY

In the beautiful Lockyer Valley
FAMILY RUN COUNTRY HIDEAWAY, 80K FROM BRISBANE
Welcome to Frog Hollow Homestead, a one hundred and twenty-three year old colonial dwelling situated on seven and a half acres in the beautiful Lockyer Valley. This lovely house was first occupied by Pastor Johannes Goessling, his wife Helene and their 17 children back in the 1880's. Pastor Goessling and his wife now lay buried in Plainland cemetery. One of their daughters, Martha and son in law Thomas Greer who later lived in this house are buried along side them. The Greers raised three children here. Later the Hughes family ran the property as a dairy farm (approximately 200 acres then) - the road being named after them. Geoff and Jill invite you to stop over in our delightful country cottage with views of the Great Dividing Range. Experience this peaceful setting along with comfortable spacious accommodation, en suite bathroom and kitchenette at this family run B&B. You may even wish to sample a complimentary afternoon tea or coffee in the gazebo on your arrival. Soak up the tranquility of our "little piece of Paradise". Keep an eye out for the Guinea fowl or spend some time in the garden and watch the various wild birds such as kingfishers, herons, grass parrots, galahs, lorrikeets and many others, not forgetting to see if you can spot some of our beautiful tree frogs. Frog Hollow has its own orchard and provides guests with the opportunity to taste delicious home grown fruits such as mangoes, mulberries, guavas, passion fruit and the more exotic jaboticabas, plus many more. A full country breakfast, including farm fresh eggs, local bacon and fruits from our orchard is not to be missed. Breakfast may be enjoyed in the gazebo or the comfort of the barn. We are close to many attractions, including hot air ballooning, sky diving, scenic drives, fine dining, wineries and many local places of historical interest. A visit to antique, craft and coffee shops with a browse around the many country markets and nurseries in this area is a wonderful way to unwind. You may even pick up a work of art from one of our talented local artists or you may wish to purchase locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables. Have a look at Jill's Folk Art during your stay as well - items are for sale!
